Another quick costume I made a spell back. MAN, I need to quit it with the “quick costumes!” SO LAZY. I’m starting some big challenges for this summer – lots of armor, huge wigs, and body paint! It’s been awhile since I took on some elaborate projects, and I can’t wait to get started. Here is Takane, who is a little too sophisticated and pretty for my tastes. But hey, cosplay is all about being something you’re not, right?

Here’s a quick new costume – an alternate character design of Jack from the creator Matt Rhodes. I made this to feature the amazing prop work of THORSSOLI. I had lots of fun running around the train tracks of Chicago for this shoot – hey, alternate costume, alternate universe, right? I love the gritty feel from this shoot!

Finally! I made this costume years ago. I got some amazing shots of it at the Aria in Las Vegas. Funny story – the place was crawling with suits and security. Turns out President Obama was there that night for a rally. LOL. So here’s all these 8′ tall security dudes with walkie talkies just…. staring at me with my toy gun…. I’m sure they’ve seen stranger things. I was worried we would be told to leave, since Kyle was there with his huge honking camera. We were more worried about the camera and not so much my weird outfit and gun. Anyway, enjoy!

It was a cold Chicago night…

The Saturday night of Anime Central, to be exact! While everyone was partying post masquerade, HezaChan, Kyle and I hopped in a car downtown to take some long overdue photos of our Puma Twin costumes from Dominion Tank Police.

12am on a Saturday night downtown did not disappoint. We got called Lady Gaga many times by drunken frat boys, which I guess I can understand… asymmetrical spiky armor, shiny jumpsuits, bleach blonde hair… okay. Better than the usual “IT’S NOT HALLOWEEN” jibes. We got some great shots in front of the Wrigley building and the Sears Tower. Oh wait, I mean the Willis Tower. Running around such a scenic backdrop with huge guns at midnight feels badass. Would definitely do it again!
