Jack [alt version] :: Mass Effect 2

Inspiration
THORSSOLI contacted me about modeling one of his amazing M-3 Predator Pistols from Mass Effect 2. My hair has grown out since last year, and after D*Con fell through this September (AGAIN), I decided to go for one of Jack’s alternate concept art designs by Matt Rhodes in lieu of shaving my head again. YEAH, I know. I chose the easiest one. And the one with the most hair. And the one with the pants I already had. Lazy cosplay is lazy. BUT, it was fun to get to wear Jack again, and have it be somewhat official. And also, it’s bittersweet to finally have a gun for Jack! I had wanted one for her original costume, but ran out of time, which explains the LED’s I used for her hands.
Construction
The gun is from THORSSOLI, who did an amazing replica! It even lights up, even though I didn’t realize it at the time. T_T He is selling them on his site, and also does other prop commissions – make sure to check it out! When I opened the box I squee’d. Not just a little. An embarrassing amount.
The bodysuit and armwarmers are lined for extra support. There was no back reference, but I decided to keep with the 3-strap theme, as well as make a keyhole back to show off Jack’s omega and skull tattoo. I experimented with putting the cuts and layers as per the original, but failed many attempts to find the correct fabric and/or amalgamate different fabrics. Frustrated, I had to remind myself this was more of a fun, fast project and nothing too serious. Just a quick, fun costume.
