Justice Silver :: Original Design
Completed 2010
Inspiration
This was inspired by the giant zippers from orgxiii.org . It’s a full length zipper that’s usually used for Kingdom Hearts outfits, but it called to me for a bodysuit. It zips from front to back. Hot! My second favorite color besides red is gray, so I wanted an all gray getup. The name Just Silver is a nod to my favorite book series when I was a teen, Dangerous Angels by Francesca Block. The design has absolutely nothing to do with the character, as anyone who’s read the book is raising an eyebrow right now. Just always thought the name was rad, and the costume is silver. Also coincidentally, my favorite number is 47, which happens to be the atomic number for Silver. So. Yeah. Awesome all around. (And why I incorporated the number 47 into the hood of the jacket.)
Gears of War gun, yep. Why? Why not? It was laying around my friend’s house for months, unopened. My silver outfit needed a prop. I think I’m going to tell everyone I’m some super secret hidden character in the new game… Well, I guess I just ruined my secret plot. I suck.
Construction
It’s a bodysuit over a pair of shorts, with a vinyl cropped jacket. I wear the shorts, tights, and jacket regularly. Just not together. The jacket is based off of a child’s pullover. The bodysuit is a Vogue dress pattern that I heavily altered. The leggings I made a cutout pattern for. They were a fun spandex experiment. The trim on the boots and jacket are leftovers from foam floor mats that matched the look of the zippers.
